Mary

Mary Flanagan is a thought leader in the realm of games, digital culture, and human values, and she’s also an artist, with works exhibited at museums and galleries around the world such as the Whitney, the Guggenheim, Tate Britain, and other global institutions. In 2018, Mary won the Award of Distinction at Prix Ars Electronica and is currently building artificial intelligences. She has held numerous fellowships, has published six books including Critical Play and Values at Play in Digital Games, with Helen Nissenbaum (MIT Press). Mary is the Sherman Fairchild distinguished professor in digital humanities and chair of Film and Media Studies at Dartmouth College, USA.
