Mark O'Connell

Mark O’Connell is a writer of non-fiction from Dublin. He is the author of To Be a Machine (2017), and Notes from an Apocalypse (2020). He is the recipient of the 2019 Rooney Prize for Irish Literature and the 2018 Wellcome Book Prize, and was shortlisted in 2017 for the Baillie Gifford Prize for Non-Fiction. He is a contributor to The New Yorker, The New York Times Magazine, and The Guardian.
